"After this, they will be addressed as
'Doctor,' and although they have been
addressed as 'Doctor' many times, this
time it's for real," Lichter said.
Litchter said 43 percent of the graduat-
ing class is hoping to obtain their residen-
ies in the state of Michigan, many of them
returning to the University of Michigan
Hospitals.
"This is a more stay-at-home class than
we have seen," he said. "This is a sparkling
time of renewal aind' growth on this cam-
pus."
He added his appreciation for the schol-
arship endowment already established by
the class of 2001.
