MSA representative Joseph Tarviano said the >oster is designed to inform students "what their ights and responsibilities are when they give a party st their house." The undercover operations by the AAPD raised cry of protest from student groups last fall, when he police raided fraternity and house parties, issu- ing dozens of citations. Some claimed the espe- :ially vigorous activity of the AAPD was prompt- ed by the death of LSA student Courtney Cantor last October. Cantor died after falling from her sixth-story resi- dence hall window, after she had consumed alcohol at a fraternity party hours earlier. Since her death, the implications of underage drinking have been exam- ined by the University community. In the raids following Cantor's death, the AAPD issued a total of 135 citations for drinking underage, using false identification and supplying alcohol to minors. Former MSA President Trent Thompson, a Beta Theta Pi member, said last fall that "laying down the "We do not single out fraternities." -Lieutenant Michael Z senyuk Ann Arbor Police Department law is not going to solve the problem.
