shows and lighting, so we spend a lot of

The band's current popular song,
however, wasn't conceived of as a career
focal point, as it has now become.
"We didn't intend to record Pepper'

loops and samples and gradually built up
that song from there, and when Capitol
told us that was going to be the single,
we thought ... 'How in the hell are we

They also didn't intend to name the
album "Electriclarryland."'
"Originally we wanted to call it
'Oklahoma!', but the lawyers for Rodgers
and Hammerstein claimed that there was
another musical body of work that was
trademarked called 'Oklahoma!', and
should we put out another work called
'Oklahoma!' we would be infringing on
their trademark, and they just weren't
*ppy about it and they threatened to sue
us. So at the last minute we were forced to
change the album title"
Go see the Bitthole Surfers before
they mutate again. They're part of
America's musical history. And hey,
guitarist Paul Leary is even working
withi a broken strumming hand this
tour. It's bound to be a spectacle.
