Moeller's attorney _confirms resignation By John Leroi Daily Sports Editor In a confidential letter sent to the University Gary Moeller's attorney, Deborah Gordon, said that Moeller did not leave the University voluntarily. But Gordon told The Michigan Daily Mon- day that Moeller did in fact resign. "Gary Moeller resigned," Gordon said. "(The letter was) correspondence between lawyers. The whole thing has been totally blown out of proportion." In the letter faxed to University attor- ney Gloria Hage on the morning of May 4 - the day Moeller's resignation was announced - Gordon wrote: "This is to confirm our conversation of yesterday, at which time we discussed the announce- ment to be made concerning Gary Moeller's departure as head football coach from the University. "It is agreed that Mr. Moeller's an- nounced resignation will have no impact on our legal position that this is not vol- untary." Tie remaining 2 1/2 years of Moeller's contract was bought out as if he were fired. But Vice President for University Relations Walter Harrison said that Moeller "definitely resigned. Athletic Department spokesperson Bruce Madej confirmed yesterday. Ndiaye becomes the third player in his class to transfer, joining Ols ier Saint-John, who left for San Jose State during the season and Bobby Crawford who transferred to Rice in April. In the June 28 issue of The Michigan Daily, Ndiaye complained of jealousy between players and cited lack of team unity as a reason for the Wolverines' lackluster play and early departure from the NCAA tournament "We have a lot of jealousy on this team," Ndiaye said. "You're hsoping somebody will get hurt so you can play. When you come see us play, we're all hugging. But we're faking it. It's not like that." He also took a few,\ parting shots at Michigan coach Steve Fisher before leaving, saying that he "tries to make ev- erybody happy and you can not win by making everybody happy.
