She said that 35-50 percent of those UMPNC members are crossing the picket lines, but that number varies from shift to shift and from day to day. Stoll estimates that 85-90 percent of UMPNC members are not crossing the picket lines. Stoll said that "very few" picketers were out on Thursday, the first day following the vote. News briefs Pro-choice protest BY ALEX MAWS Two area pro-choice groups, the Ann Arbor Committee to Defend Abortion Rights (AACDAR) and Voices for Choice, will picket the Ann Arbor Pregnancy Counseling Center tomorrow from 10:30 am to noon. The Counseling Center, located at 606 W. Stadium is known for being strongly pro-life. "Our group's main objection to the Counseling Center is that it is a fake clinic," said AACDAR member Michael Cooper. "It poses as an un- biased pregnancy clinic, but it is actually a Right to Life front that uses scare tactics and propaganda to prey on the naivete of their clients." An AACDAR member who received counseling from the clinic will be speaking about her experience. The director of the clinic was unavailable for comment. Rally against Eastern. BY SAM GREEN The International Association of Machinists 141 and the Detroit Metro AFL-CIO are organizing a picket of Eastern airline's Metro Airport terminal in response to Frank Lorenzo's announcement that Eastern will resume flights out of Detroit. Eastern flights out of Metro have been grounded since the airline's machinists, pilots, and flight attendants went on strike in March. Organizers say the purpose of the picket is to demonstrate labor solidarity and show Frank Lorenzo that "Detroit is a union town." Mike Parker of Labor Notes said that the protest will be "a way for the whole union movement to send a message to employers that they can't use Lorenzo's union-busting tactics." Lorenzo has attempted to cut workers wages by more than half as well as decreasing other benefits. The all-day picket and 4:00 rally are scheduled for August 1st outside of Metro Airport's South terminal. 6 6 0 SUMMER JOBSI Good Times' Great Pay! Terrific People! Membership is limited to men who are bishops or CEO's of corporations which earn more than $4 million yearly. Legatus was started in Honduras, then in Ann Arbor.
