Over 1200 women marched in this year's Take Back the Night rally, an annual event which allows women to walk thestreets without fear
of rape. Controversy surrounds the march because it has traditionally excluded men.

South African poet Dennis Bruttus speaks to student protesters at a
Board of Regents meeting last April. The studet demanded that the
University give Nelson Mandela an honorary deg ee, but the Regents
refused, saying that Mandela had to accept the degree in person.

Forward Richard Rellford goes up for a shot. Michigan's basketball team won the Big Ten title last
season, but was upset by Iowa State University in the second round of the NCAA tournament.
