The three men gave up and fled in their car, Sgt. Jan Suomala said. A woman was arguing with her ex- boyfriend Saturday morning in the 1300 block of Washtenaw Ave. and he forced her to sign over a check to him. He was later arrested, police said. Break-ins reported A stereo valued at less than $1,675 was stolen Friday night in the 900 block of S. State after a house win- dow was pried open. Two paint sprayers, a meat slicer, and other items were stolen from Pizano's Restaurant at 3411 Washtenaw Ave. sometime Saturday night, police said. The stolen property was valued at less than $3,600. Saturday night a stereo valued at less than $875 was stolen from a house in the 500 block of E. Hoover. The method of entry is unknown. Police believe the lock was slipped Friday night when a television set valued at less than $100 was taken from a home in the 800 block of Oakland Street. A purse and contents valued at less than $75 were stolen from a home in the 400 block of West Madison Street at 10:50 p.m. Friday. It is believed that the thieves entered through an unlocked door, police said.
