HAPPENINGS POLICE NOTES Armed robberies reported A cab driver was robbed and threatened with a knife at 2 a.m. yesterday in the 500 block of Kellogg Street, police said. The driver, 24, was dispatched to pick up a fare and was flagged down by a man. While the driver was talking to the man, another came up and pulled a knife on him. The two took a small amount of cash and forced the driver to leave the cab. Police found the cab but have'no suspects in the incident. A drunk man, who passed out in Argo Park between 3 and 9 a.m. Thur- sday, awoke to find he had been cut on the chest and robbed of the small amount of cash he had, police said. Two homes broken into Less than $100 in cash was reported stolen from an unlocked house in the 1100 block of Church sometime bet- ween June 1 and July 9. The theft was not reported until Thursday, police said. Less than $10 was reported stolen from a home in the 900 block of Maiden Lahe between 8 p.m. Wed- nesday and 7 a.m. on Thursday, police said. Clothes, recorder stolen A staff member at the Legal Research Building reported that two sportcoats and a micro-cassette recorder, valued at $328, were stolen from his locked office sometime bet- ween June 7 and Thursday, campus security said. There are no suspects. - Laura Bischoff Corrections A story in yesterday's Daily, on the University's state budget ap- propriations, was missing its dateline. It should have been dated from Lan- sing. The story also said, "The fourth school" will divide up $22 million of the $25 million research excellence fund. It should have read, "The four schools" will divide up the money. In the same story, Bob Endriss, an analyst for the state Office of Management and Budget (OMB), was described as an "0, and, B" analyst. In a story on the University's plan to make computers accessible to all students, it said that students can buy computers low cost from the Univer- sity's computer education center. Students can only get information on where to get the computers at the en- ter. Students must by the computers from the U-Cellar. In Thursday's Daily, an article on Page 1 said Jennifer Faigel, a mem- ber of the rape prevention center's hiring committee, will be in England next summer.
