ORIOLES DROP FIFTH STRAIGHT
Petry nails last 19
in Detroit win, 6-2

DETROIT-It wasn't a no-hitter or
a shutout, but last night's win for the
Tigers' Dan Petry-his ninth-was
perhaps one of his best outings of the
season, leading Detroit to a 6-2 win
over Baltimore at Tiger Stadium.
Petry, after giving up a two-run a
homer to center fielder Fred Lynn in
the second inning, retired all but one
batter the rest of the game. He nailed
the last 19 hitters in a row.
THE WIN was Petry's tenth over
the Orioles in his career. Petry
