Levitations

magician
to rising
success

"How about levitating someone off the
Bell Tower?" magician and five-year
art fair veteran Franz Harary says.
"Or how about Tower Plaza or
Maynard House. Just name it,
whatever you would like to see done, I
can do it."
It is easy to believe the small, blond-
haired Harary as he stares deeply into
your eyes and speaks in a hypnotic
voice.
AFTER YEARS of performing in
shows for kids, the career of this 21-
year-old Eastern Michigan University
senior is beginning to take off.
He will perform at the art fair July 20,
and from there he travels to the Magic
Castle in Hollywood with his company
"Odyssey in Illusion."
After four years of studying other
magicians' tricks, Harary says he now
originals and designs most of the acts in
his show. Yet still much of magic, he
says, is taking the designs of master
magicians and reworking their theories
into a new illusion.
