About 20,000 fans, admitted free, watched as the players in Tuesday night's All- Star Game took batting and fielding practice. THE WEATHER was perfect for watching any kind of baseball-sunny skies with temperatures in the high 70s. The crowd, led by Olympic Stadium's organist, applauded most of the players as they were announced in both French and English by public address announcer Richard Morency. But the fans saved their loudest cheers for Philadelphia Phillies first baseman Pete Rose and the five members of the Montreal Expos on the NL team-catcher Gary Carter, first baseman Al Oliver, outfielders Andre Dawson and Tim Raines, and pitcher Steve Rogers. Carter got the biggest hand when he belted two home runs into the left-field bleachers. 4 i
