Man charged with rape
A man was arrested and charged
with attempted rape in connection with
an incident in the south campus area
May 29, according to police. The in-
cident occurred at the home of the vic-
tim; screams from the victim drew at-
tention of a neighbor, who called the
police.
Woman kidnapped
Police also are investigating a kid-
napping which occurred Thursday
night. Two men kidnapped a woman
from Ann Arbor and took her to Ohio,
where they sexually asaulted her.
Police have arrested two men, one 21
and one 34.

- According to WSU Chief Financial
Officer Charles Sturtz, if an
agreement is not reached, officials will
begin sending layoff notices to some
faculty members beginning July 1.
Faculty with contracts expiring in less
than one year will receive six months
notice, those with more than one year
contracts will receive 12 months notice,
and tenured faculty will receive 18
months notice.
