OMAHA, Neb. - Michigan outfielder
Jim Paciorek and second-basemen Jeff
Jacobson were accorded All-American
honors over the weekend by the
American Association of College
Baseball Coaches. Paciorek was
named to the first team while Jacobson
was a second-team selection.
During the past season, Paciorek set
season's records for home runs (17) and
RBI (65). Among his Wolverine career
records are runs (162), hits (254), home
runs (32), RBI (183), highest batting
percentage (.375) and highest slugging
percentage (.628).
ACCORDING TO Michigan head
coach Bud Middaugh, Paciorek is 'the
finest athlete I've ever coached."
While Paciorek batted .443 this
season, Jacobson, always a good
fielder, hit .389 after hitting .233 last
year.
