Cubs 5, Mets 1 CHICAGO (AP) - Jody Davis' three- run homer and a two-run pinch homer by Jerry Morales powered the Chicago Cubs past the, New York Mets 6-1 yesterday for the Cubs'first victory in baseball's second season. Third baseman Hubie Brooks, who has had a brilliant series at bat and in the field, gave the Mets a 1-0 lead with his second homer of 1981 in the fourth inning. But the Cubs came back with three runs in the bottom of the fourth on a walk, a single by Bobby Bonds and Davis' second homer of the season, off starter and loser Greg Harris, (2-2). THE CUBS added three runs in the fifth. Steve Dillard tripled and'scored on Morales' first homer of the year. Two walks and a double by Hector Cruz accounted for the other run. Doug Bird, acquired from the New York Yankees for Rick Reuschel just before the players strike June 12, was the winner in his first start for the Cubs. Padres 5, Astros 1 SAN DIEGO (AP) - Terry Kennedy drove in three runs with a single and double to lead the San Diego Padres over the Houston Astros 9-1 yesterday, the Padres' first victory in four games since the season resumed. Rookie left-hander Chris Welsh, (4-4), limited Houston to six hits before leaving the game with leg cramps after the seventh inning. THE PADRES scored twice off Astros starter Bob Knepper, 5-2, in the third inning. An :error by left fielder Jose Cruz contributed to the first run. After Ruppert Jones walked, Jose Moreno doubled down the left field line, Jones racing home when Cruz fumbled the ball. Moreno scored on Juan Bonilla's single.
