9-month-old kidnapped
A nine-month-old baby was apparen-
tly kidnapped by his baby sitter from
the 800 block of E. Kingsley Monday af-
ternoon, police reported yesterday. The
father of the child had left him with a
babysitter between 1 and 4 p.m. and
when he returned, the babysitter was
gone with the child. Later that day, the
Ann Arbor police received a teletype
message from the East Lansing police
who were looking for the parents of the
baby.
The babysitter, an 18-year-old
female, had apparently taken a bus to
East Lansing and then dropped the
baby off at a local community center.
The baby is now in a foster home in
EastLansing until the father can pick
him up. Police reported the babysitter,
who had just gotten into town several
days ago and had been living with the
father since then, was picked up here
and the situation is pending further in-
vestigation.
Island Drive women robbed
A strong-armed robbery on Island
Drive resulted in the loss of about $29

males who demanded their money, but
had no weapons. After taking the
money, the suspects fled the scene.
