'U' student killed
in crash
A recent University graduate, Gregg
Lundquist, 22, was killed when he was
thrown from the motorcycle he was
driving yesterday morning.
Lundquist, who graduated Saturday
from the College of Engineering with a
degree in Industrial and Operations
Engineering, was driving his room-
mate's motorcycle north on Boardwalk
when he hit a curb, went over the curb-
cut of a driveway and fell off the
vehicle, according to Ann Arbor Police
Sgt. Harold Tinsey.
Tinsey said Lundquist had been
asking his roommate, Michael
Leonard, if he could ride Leonard's
motorcycle after they had been riding
around together Monday night.
Lundquist was taken to University
Hospital and admitted "in full cardiac
arrest," according to hospital infor-
mation officer Dave Friedo. He was
treated for severe head injuries and in-
ternal bleeding, Friedo said, and died
at 2:31 a.m. in the emergency room.
Tinsey said Lundquist had been
drinking, but did not know to what ex-
tent.
