The losing streak tied the Blue Jays' club record. WITH TORONTO leading, 5-4, George Brett led off the eighth for the Royals with a triple off Mike Willis, 0-4. After a walk to Willie Aikens, Brett was caught in a rundown on a grounder by Amos Otis, with the runners moving to second and third. An intentional walk to McRae loaded the bases, then Quirk batted for Dave Chalk and squibbed a double down the left field line off reliever Roy Lee Jackson. Renie Martin, 2-3, held the Jays hitless in 3% innings of relief of Paul Splittorff for the victory and Dan Quisenberry came on in the eighth to pick up his ninth save. Cubs 6, Giants 1 CHICAGO (AP)-Ken Reitz' two-run double capped a four-run first inning and Jody Davis hit his first major league homer yesterday to lead Randy, Martz and the Chicago Cubs to a 6-1 vic- aight a sweep of the three-game series. The triumph was the fifth in the last six games for the Cubs, who knocked loser Tom Griffin, 4-5, from the game in the first inning as the Giants suggered their fifth straight defeat. Ivan DeJesus drew a walk to open the Cubs' first, stole second and scored on a double by Steve Dillard. Mike Lum singled Dillard home and Jerry Morales walked before Reitz doubled into the left field corner, scoring both runners. Martz, 3-5, had a three-hit shutout un- til there were two out in the sixth when Joe Morgan hit his fifth homer. Expos 7, Braves 0 MONTREAL (AP) - Gary Carter, Warren Cromartie and Andre Dawson each drove in two runs to. back the seven-hit pitching of Steve Rogers as the Montreal Expos completed a three- game sweep of the Atlanta Braves with a 7-0 victory last night. Rogers, 7-4, who has won five straight games against the Braves dating back to August, 1977, walked two and struck out one: It was his third complete game and first shutout of the season.
