University at the corner of East U. and South U. 662-3201 Today Demons will be demons The Lower Snoqualmie School Board in the state of Washington has struck down a noble attempt by concerned citizens to rid their school system of an evil influence. The school board voted unanimously Monday to allow the Tolt Junior-Senior High School sports teams to keep the name "Demons." Some 300 parents, worried that the nickname may be influencing their of- fspring to actually act like demons, had petitioned the school board last mon- th to ban the name from school sports teams. "We feel the name is detrimen- tal to the community, morally, socially, physically, psychologically, and emotionally," explained the Rev. Fred Reiter of the Snoqualmie Baptist Church. Diana Board, mother of a Tolt High School student and three Tolt graduates, also criticized the Bellevue Christian's school team name, the Vikings. "We all know the Vikings raped and pillaged.. ." she reminded the school board members. Bon Appetit Dr. Ben Willis of Marianna Animal Hospital didn't know what to think when Steve and Sandra Stewart brought their Boston terfier, Sweetie Pie, into the clinic last month. The Stewarts said the 3%-pound dog wouldn't eat and had thrown up several pennies. At one point she was in mortal danger. "I've taken everything out of dogs from corn cobs, nuts, bolts, bottle nipples, rubber stoppers, bones, needles with thread - you name it," Willia said. "But I've never seen or heard or anything to compare with this highly irregular behavior." By the time Willis' surgery was over, doctors had ex- tracted 80 cents in coins from the pup's stomach, as well as a metal show from a Monopoly game, a piece of lead the size of a quarter and a staple-"half a pound in metal," a more than adequate amount of ruffage for the daily diet.
