Tornadoes kill 7 in Kalamazoo storms From UPI and AP Tornadoes raged through Kalamazoo at the evening rush hour yesterday, sparking scattered fires, knocking out utilities, killing at least seven people and injuring dozens of others, authorities said. Officials said the twisters, among a rash of tornadoes that hit Michigan and injured scores of people, caused an estimated $20 million damage. There were no reports of deaths outside Kalamazoo. AUTHORITIES feared other storm victims might be trapped in the rubble of several buildings demolished by the storms, part of a severe weather system that raked southwestern lower Michigan. "We're having a search and rescue attempt," a city police spokeswoman said. "We're going from building to building in the downtown area, sear- ching for casualties possibly trapped." MAYOR EDWARD Annen declared a state of emergency and called in all available police officers to patrol the sealed-off downtown area. A 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. curfew was imposed. Gov.
