Do a Tree a Favor: Recycle Your Daily mmoom Is There Something You've Got To Say? SAY IT IN THE CLASSIFIEDS CALL 764-0557 recovery LOS ANGELES (UPI) - Comedian Richard Pryor joked with doctors yesterday at Sherman- Oaks Com- munity Hospital, where he is beginning a long period of treatment for severe burns he received in a flash fire at his house early this week. Pryor, 39, was listed in stable but critical condition in the hospital burn ward, a spokeswoman said. He is now not allowed to receive any telephone calls or visitors except for actor and former football star Jim Brown, who is at Pryor's bedside at the comedian's request. PRYOR IS kept busy at the hospital, Nona Egan said, with a regimen of treatment including two hours a day in a whirlpool and the same length of time ins hyperbaric oxygen chamber, which retards scarring. *He sits up, watches television, walks around theward for exercise, has his dressings changed, and eats regular meals. He can read, but needs someone to hold the printed material for him because his hands are bandaged. Hospital officials first gave Pryor only a one in three chance of surviving, but have raised the odds to better than 50-50. "He's got a very strong will to live," Egan noted, "and certainly that is a huge part of it." Shroud of deadly ash, gas spews from volcano (Continued from Page5) was in the vicinity when the latest pyroclastic flow erupted. Part of the sizzling materials boiled into the now-brackish waters of Spirit Lake, sending huge steam clouds skyward, said Rowley. "It's nice to see a recognizable pat- tern of eruptions," he said. "This flow is similar to what happened after the afternon of eruption on May 18 and the second eruption May 25." Portland, known as "The City of Roses," was celebrating its annual Rose Festival when it was inundated with mucky ash. The new fallout closed some businesses and kept many people indoors, but city officials said the an- nual grand floral parade would go on as scheduled in downtown Portland today. Platinum is essential in auto anti- pollution devices-there was $23 worth in each of last year's new cars-to help purify exhaust by oxidizing carbon monoxide and hydrocarbons. "WHY DO THE HEATHEN RAGE?" Psalms 2:1 and Acts 4:25 "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge. I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten The Law of Thy God, I will also forget thy children!" Hosea 4:6. Weigh these words! It is a terrible message of judg- ment! Destroyed on account of "lack of knowledge" or ig- norance. Rejection and ignorance of "The Law of Our God!" The results: they shall be no priest to God, and God_ will forget their children, seeing they have forgotten "The Law of Thy God!" - Protestantism gives us the true teaching of God's Word that every sincere believer is a priest unto his God. Have we not forgotten "The Law of Our God!" We "breach The Sabbath" and destroy "The goods of God!" We mock and scorn His Laws regarding the home, marriage and sex relations. Our land is lousy with murderers, and yet quite a number of our. states have decided that The Almighty did not know what He was talk. ing about when He said: "Whoso killeth any person, the murderer shall be put to death-Moreover ye shall take no satisfaction for the life of a murderer, which is guilty of death; but he shall be surely put to death-So ye shall not pollute the land wherein ye are: for blood it defileth the land: and the land cannot be cleansed of the blood that is shed therein, but by the blood of him that shed it. Defile not therefore the land which ye shall inhabit, wherein I dwell: for I The Lord dwell among the children of Israel." Numbers-35:30-34. Our .land is also filled with stealing, lying and covetousness. If this writer's appraisal is correct even many of the laws of our nation and states encourage its people to covet that which in God's sight belongs to another instead of teaching and urging them to take heed to one of the very first laws of God to fallen man to live by "the sweat of his own brow." We are trying to run over Almighty God Himself!" And in order to make peace with men who deny and blaspheme The God we claim to serve, we turn and make war on God himself! SHALL WE HAVE PEACE WITH MAN BY MAKING WAR ON GOD ALMIGHTY? Was it not Bill Shakespeare who said: "What fools these mortals be!" The knowledge of God, or lack of it, has to do with our Eternal Life, or eternal death! God says: "Cursed be the man that trusteth in man," and "He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool!" For the sake of the children we should not forget the "Law of Our God!" P.O.,BQOX 404 CAT , GEORGIA 30031
