I

Describe Lockheed Martin in three words: Innovative,
diverse, community-oriented

t

Do you have any advice for students who might want
to work there one day? For those students that would
like to work at Lockheed Martin someday, I would
advise them to get the best out of their education.
Not only is a GPA important, but being involved in
university organizations and community outreach
is also important. I would encourage students to be
extremely active at their university because this will
enrich their resume as well as overall college experience.
The knowledge, connections, and experience gained by
being involved in student organizations is invaluable
to a student's overall college experience. Lockheed
Martin values an employee who demonstrates not only
a desire to excel in their education, but also those who
demonstrate leadership experience.
Additonally, I would advise students to get to know
Lockheed Martin representatives during on-campus
recruiting events. Those students who proactively seek
to talk to Lockheed Martin recruiters demonstrate their
desire to work at Lockheed.

MY ADVICE TO STUDENTS:
Enjoy every aspect of your
education: Put forth your
best effort in your classes
as this is your moment to
shine and will increase your What's something about Lockheed
opportunities when applying Martin that only the people
for a job. who work there would know?
Lockheed Martin is currently
working with the Department of Energy to implement energy
efficiency programs in the country, help utility customers
conserve energy and protect the environment. Lockheed
Martin also has state-of-the-art computer science programs.
The company has been the leading provider of US government
IT for the last 14 years.
What's your favorite part of your job? My favorite part of the job is
the constant challenge and learning opportunity. I am never bored!
I like that I can take on new opportunities and there is always
someone willing to help me out. Additionally, because Lockheed
Martin is such a large company, I have the ability to continually
evolve my career path. The sky's the limit at Lockheed Martin!

What is it about your job that makes you get out of
bed each morning? While the work is challenging and
exciting, it is the people in the group that genuinely
bring a smile to my face each day. Everyone is always
willing to go the extra mile to help me out. There is a
great level of camaraderie and mutual respect for each
person in the group.
Lockheed Martin fosters a welcoming, inclusive
environment to all its employees. There are numerous
Lockheed Martin affinity groups, such as the Latino
Mentoring Network, Women in Engineering, and so
forth, that help employees build relationships, perform
volunteer work for the community, and put on events
for the company. Lockheed Martin does an exceptional job of
making new hires and veteran employees feel welcome and
thoroughly enjoy coming to work every day.
Do you have any accomplishments that you're particularly
proud of? After 3 years of late-night studying, grueling tests,
and assignments, I have completed my MBA and MSE Dual
Degree Program through San Jose State University. I am
extremely proud of this accomplishment because it was a goal I
had set for myself since I started working at Lockheed Martin.
During those long nights of studying, I never thought I would
see the end, but now, I feel that I have the knowledge and
resources to take on new challenges in my career path.
