Two am. was made for great con-
versation - especially when the players
have had a few drinks- but my recent
late-night exchange with a stranger is
one for the record hooks.
We met on the lawn of a friend's
house and after brief chitchat, the guy
said, "You know what? You remind me
of Hillary Clinton."
As I could not attrihute this to my
looks (dark features), my outfit (I was
not wearing a pantsuit), or my crafty
rhetoric, I looked at him quizzically
and said, "Uhhhh, what?"
"OrSarah Palin," he offered, perhaps
fearingmy political opinions might lean
more in the direction of the Republican
vice presidential nominee. "If you pre-
fer her. But just like, cause you're an
amazing woman."
Maybe he was trying to showcase his
political savvy or an appreciation for
those 18 million cracks in the glass ceil-
ing. Or maybe it was a sincere feeling
that I shared a sort of kinship with two
of the most powerful women in poli-
tics. Either way, he took a step toward
