That's the situation my roommate Nora and I found ourselves in after returning from a late South Quad brunch two days ago. Discussing our fiscalsituation -neither one of us had Entree Plus, and Iowed her a dollar - we were both surprised to see a dollar bill lying in the dirt outside, blowing in the wind. As soon as our hands reached for it, though, we both stopped. A gross, brown, substance had been folded inside the bill. We looked at each other and decided together that whatever that was wasn't a load of wash. A minute later, though, another dollar bill - unfolded - appeared to our left, wafting open with what we suddenly realized was poop. Yes, someone had wiped his ass with two dollar bills, and was prob- ably watching us at that very moment. a But neither Nora or I were wor- riedaboutbeingwatched. She said, "Well, that one's not that bad...", I visualized myself standing over the communal bathroom sink, prodding the dollar with a pencil and soap to rinse out the fecal matter. Fortunately, we again came upon the simultaneous real- ization that we all have limits. SARAH LYNNE THELEN As I squeezed through the arcade of art rocker types I heard an effete young man with a pom- padour proclaim: "I want to dig a trench and put myself in it." Someone exhaled a sympathet- ic puff of smoke, but I had walked too far to hear a response. ABIGAIL COLODNER An incident of me taieofne Ann Arhor a n stmaized out door at Ambrosia I was taking a detour down Maynard Street, dodging a car coming out of the parking structure and about to pass the actively hipster Ambrosia Caf6. The sidewalk outside was lined on both sides by patrons of the coffee shop - they looked like a fair representative sample of Ann Arbor's less-generic youth culture. I noticed people stopping outside my house to look at it. I thought maybe something was wrong with the house, but when they kept moving on, I stopped thinking about it. But then a man stopped in front of my house and actually took a photo of it. Who takes photos of other people's houses? Then I remembered the huge block'M'AP P painted over the doorway of my Myanmar Buddhist monks walk on the street during a pro- maize and blue house. test against the military government in Mandalay, Myan- ANGELA CESERE mar's second largest city yesterday.
