A bo e Mici igan ai l 1 Ann Arbor, Michigan www.michigandaly.com Monday, April 16, 2007 Moving on ... but it's never too early for nostalgia When this year's graduating seniors got to Ann Arbor, affirmative action was the norm, Michigan's Rose Bowl losing streak had not yet begun and Coca Cola still symbolized wholesome family refreshment. But as the pictures on this page attest, a lot can change in four years. This special section reflects back on the major happenings that defined our college years, but it will inevitably not encompass everything. That is the beauty of this col- lege experience. The moments that mattered, that defined us and will continue to drive us were as likely to be found on the front page of the Daily as in quiet conversations in coffee shops or class discussions. And then some are even bigger than this page. From the passage of Proposal 2 to the death of former U.S. President Gerald Ford, a lot of the events that dominated campus dis- course also caught the attention of the state and the country. It was in these happenings that our iden- tities developed and matured. Perhaps even with all the changes,we graduate into a world similar to the way it was when we entered col- lege. But the effect they had on us are indel- ible. If the last four years change the world, it will be because of what we learned and how our outlooks changed. Turn the page for a sentimental refresher.
