2 - Tuesday, November 14, 2006 MONDAY: Ten Spot AU NIGHT LIGHT WEDNESDAY: University Jobs THURSDAY: Explained FRIDAY: Before You Were Here The iPod, the polio vaccine and ass text Visiting Los Angeles this sum- mer, I met Lisa Hallerman, who claims she started the letters-on- the-ass trend. Apparently, when she was a stu- dent at the University 18 years ago, she worked at Moe's Sports Shop. At the time, there were no licensed sweatshirts, so they had to iron on Michigan logos. One day when she was bored, she saw an iron-on Michigan transfer and decided to put in on the back of her sweatpants. Her sorority sisters and other girls immediately wanted their own pair, and so she went into business ironing Greek letters and Michigan logos onto sweat- pants. She expanded to boxers that had a small wolverine wear- ing a football uniform and helmet and kicking a football. On one cheek, it said "kick ass." She sold them at football games and estimated that she made about $10,000 before graduation. To this day she is prouder of being known as the creator of the Togain campus immortality, submit your own Arbor Anec- dotes. Just keep them under 125 words. PUNIT MATTOO Dear Apt. 609: It's the same every night: I make it back from the Daily to University Towers at about 3 or 4 a.m. I enter the elevator and press 5. The doors shut and the elevator ascends. Without fail, it goes past the fifth floor and onto the sixth, where the doors open, leaving me staring at you. For a while, I just pushed the button for the fifth floor and waited for the doors to close. As the semester wears on, though, I wonder more and more who lives behind your door. What are their lives like? And at the risk of being overdramatic, why am I delivered there every morning? This is my way of knocking on your door. KARL STAMPFL A call to all football fanatics Send in pictures and anecdotes of your escapades this week- end before, during and after the game. Painting yourself maize and streaking through the Diag?
