Nx takes the field with StaffPicks
For the inaugural edition of Staff Picks for the 2006 season, Michigan Marching Band director Jamie L. Nix takes off his white gloves to display his
football prognostication ability. Does he have what it takes to show up the Daily's so-called experts? Watch the games this weekend and pick up Monday's
edition of the sports section to find out.

Before every football game this
season, two of the Daily's football
writers will take the weekend's
matchup to the PlayStation 2 and
then let you know what happened.
" Play of the game - With Michi-
gan up 28-14 in the third quarter,
coach Matt Singer decided to go
for it on 4th-and-12 from the Chip-
pewa 43. QB #7 hit WR #15, who
caught the ball on a hook and
scampered to the end zone for a
touchdown.
" Player of the game - Michigan
WR #15 had the best receiving
game of his Wolverine career. He
torched Central's D for 99 yards
and three scores.

OJOT ES:
Central Michigan coach
Scott Bell:
"Coach Singer is a real
big man for going for Hail
Mary's late in games. I have
feeling the tables may be
turned when he's coaching
a bad team."
"That's what happens when
a D-I team goes up against
a D-Il team. Wait, we're a
D-1 team? Holy crap, what a
joke ... we suck."
"If there's any silver living,
WR #3 dominated the weak
Michigan Cover Two all day
long, grabbing 12 catches
for 176 yards."

"I hereby resign. I'm going
to the casino."
Michigan coach Matt
Singer:
"Yeah, our defense looked
a little Herrmann-esque
there after we jumped out
to the big lead early. I blame
those damn Daily writers
for relentlessly hyping our
new guy. Did you see that
Kickoff edition? Enough
already."
"Running up the score? I
was just trying to get QB #7
some practice - he didn't
get too many opportunities
in week one."

THP: WITH 110,000 FANS AND

HERE'S HOW TO MAKE THAT HAPPEN:
ENJOY THE TIME-HONORED
MICHIGAN TRADITION OF JINGLING
YOUR KEYS ON THIRD DOWN.
