This topic is extremely important to the of the Internet on society. There is absolutely nothing worse than liv- ing with three other overgrown mutant turtles in a musty dorm room. Staying in the pit known as Markley was the worst experience during our time at the University. That's why we're advocates for off-campus living. Let's look at the upsides to living in the dorms: free food and there's always some- one around. Now, these are only positive if you like eating sewage and listening to some freshman chick psychoanalyze you because she took Psych 111. To said frosh: Please stop talking, you're only hurting yourself. When you order a pizza to try and appease your stomach (rather than trying to choke down more cafeteria sludge), you have to put on your shell and walk all the way to the front of the dorm. Besides all that, community showers are disgusting. Do y'all know what guys do in there? There's not even a tub we can wade in. Sure, we can go swimming elsewhere, but who doesn't love sitting in a kiddie pool in their living room, next to a George Foreman grill and drinking a 40 oz.? In summary, dorms mean no drinking, no running around with your shell off, terrible food and if you're lucky, walking in on your roommate with his girlfriend. They moved the lease date back. Get an apartment. Having lived in barracks all our lives, <: can appreciate the subtlety of living in the dorms. Just because you've had entire sewer systems at your living disposal doesn't mean everyone else has. First, there are girls. Do you realize how amazing that is? There's nothing more delighting than to walk out of your room and see some chick down the hall in a towel coming back from a shower. That's so hot! But maybe it isn't such a big deal for freak, mutant turtles. Girls love men in uniform. We get tons of chicks ... sorry, that's a lie, but they really do love men in uniform. We also feature an "In My Own Words" by Madison Moore, a gay student who shows that the University campus may not be as tolerant as you might think. His stories of widespread homophobia - both here and In Chicago - are extremely troubling i-n our supposedly progres- sive community. Lastly, our columnists chime in on some of their pet peeves and points of enjoyment on campus.
