WHAT'S GONE WRONG?
¢ Late reviews and raises: Lecturer Ills and IVs are being forced to wait 18 months for their raises.
¢ Workload: Lecturers in the Comprehensive Studies Program (CSP) are now required to teach
classes without payr.
" Job Misclassifications: Lecturers who perform a wide range of instructional duties have not been
recognized with the proper job title, This denies them longer contracts, higher base salaries, and
slightly larger promotional raises.
" ;o Abuse of the "Clinical" title: The School of Nursing is trying to reclassify lecturers out of the union
by calling them "clinical". The clinical title is only for primary care givers.
)i~ Recall Rights: The School of Art and Design (SOAD) promised to rehire laid-off lecturers, but has
reneged. Those lecturers' recall rights end this Winter and the Administration refuses to extend
A them.
WHAT DO WE WANT?
We demand that by Dec. 1 5t the Administration:
p Agree to take no more than one year to complete Lecturer Ill and IV performance reviews and
"raises
¢ Agree to start bargaining over changes to CSP workload and pay by January 28, 2006
.~, ¢ Give all misclassified lecturers the Lecturer Ill title
41~ Agree to drop all attempts to move lecturers in the School of Nursing out of the union until the legal
* issues in question are resolved
¢ Extend the recall rights of SOAD lecturers on layoff by two years
WHAT ARE WE DOING?

J) o Today lecturers are giving 15 minutes of class time to explain and discuss the
Administration's failure to implement the contract.
¢ If the Administration does not meet our demands, then we will demonstrate at Winter
C. Commencement on December 1 8th.
