Think about it: Massaquoi hasn't caught very many passes in his career (just 38 for 422 yards and 2 TDs in four years). On either side of his tenure, you have Bennie Joppru (one of the best pass-catchers on the team in 2002 with 53 receptions for 579 yards and 5 TDs) and Ecker's 74-yard game last week. Part of the reason is that Massaquoi is often used to block. Another is Braylon. But I think Massa- quoi's injury isn't all bad for Michigan, since it will open up the offense and provide Henne with another legitimate target. POSTED BY GABE EDELSON ON09x.14.05 @7:48 PM Max Martin I for one would like to see Max Martin get a few more touches against Eastern Michigan than he got in the first two games. Off the top of my head, I think his numbers in the first two games were four carries for five yards. He didn't get a fair shot against the Irish - just one carry for negative four yards. It was a sweep with poor blocking. Obviously, no one can be judged on just one run like that. I hear that this kid is as fast as they come, and I can't wait to see him break a 50-yard run. Plus, I was under the impression that we might get to see him line up in the slot and catch some passes. This weekend should present some good opportunities for Martin. Even if Hart is completely healthy, he should probably take the day off against the Eagles - just as a precaution. Grady can't (or shouldn't) carry the ball 40 times, so let's get Max Martin in there and see what he can do on 15 to 20 carries.
