ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

By Ryan Soin
'Daily Sports Writer
There is an emerging class of athletes
on the Michigan campus. You won't see
any of these athletes donning T-shirts
t proclaiming their affiliation, though.
it's not because they are embarrassed.
Their sport failed to receive club status.
These new athletes have embraced
-the sport of racquetball. The game pits
two players against each other inside a
small room where they fire a small blue
ball off of a wall trying to win points.
. "You're pretty much always on
offense and defense," sophomore
Robert Fowler said. "It's a continuous
'flow of action and excitement."
Despite not having a club designation,
the sport has received attention from the

While Milner puts his heart into beat-
ing Jhaveri, Nathan's heart is one beat
away from ending it all. Jhaveri suffers
from a heart murmur, creating the possi-
bility that every game could be his last.
"In theory (I could die)," Jhaveri said.
"But I am not a wuss."
Despite what Milner calls "child-like
competitiveness," Jhaveri keeps a level
head against stiffer competition.
"I would imagine there are some
good players," Jhaveri said. "I have a lot
to learn."
The table is set, and the competi-
tive racquetball fires are burning.
Someone out there will send Nathan
Jhaveri an e-mail and challenge him,
proving once and for all if he
deserves a top-10 ranking.
