The sale is going on between 9 a.m. and noon, and tickets will be offered at 50 percent off their published price. Some of the world-renowned acts presented by UMS this season include Fiona Shaw and the Abbey Theatre in Euripides' "Medea", the Cullberg Ballet and the Bolshoi Ballet in two very different inter- pretations of Tchikovsky's "Swan Lake" and the Boston Pops. UMS will use the same system of selling tickets as they did last year. Students with a valid student ID will fill out an order form num- bered by their place in line, leave it with the UMS staff, and their orders will be processed in this numbered order. The pre-numbered order forms will start to be distributed at 9 a.m., and groups of up to four stu- dents can share a single form in order to ensure being seated togeth- er. Students will then be able to pick up and pay for their tickets at the League Ticket Office, 911 N. University Ave., north end of the Michigan League building, between Monday, Sept. 30 and Friday, Nov. 1. All tickets not picked up before the first performance ordered will be released back for sale to the gen- eral public. Half-price ticket availability is limited for each show, and tickets that are ordered which are no longer available will not be filled. When students pick up their tickets, they must pay for the order in its entirety. Orders paid for with a credit card will be charged a $4 service fee. At the Half-Price Student Ticket Sale, all students must show a valid student ID, and can only purchase two tickets per valid ID. Apparently Bill is such a minor char- not necessary to appear during the day or night. If only the irritating laugh track was similarly absent. Yes, a laugh track. Mr. French will be educating the twins in upcoming episodes in addition to watching them. Playing the Race Bannon to Bill's Dr. Quest is a curious move on behalf ofthe show. Here's a rhetoricalquestion : What does this say about modern parenthood? The show definitely needs some work plot-wise. On the plus side, the sneak preview of "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" that debuted during the pilot episode was pretty sweet. By Todd Weiser Daily Film Editor While millions of college students across the country spend their Saturdays drinking brews and watching col- lege football there are other alternatives and watching Anime is one of the best. The University of Michigan Japanese Animation Film Society, also know as Animania, will be holding its monthly screening this Saturday in Auditorium 3 of the Modern Languages Building. During the event, four Anime films will be shown, starting at 5 p.m. and run- ning until 11:30. The highlight of the lineup is Hayao Miyazaki's "Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi (Spirited Away)," the latest film from the director of "Princess Mononoke." "Spirited Away" will be released later this year in the U.S. by Dis- ney with new voices provided by American actors so this is a rare chance to see it in it's original state, but with English subtitles. The film was the biggest blockbuster ever in Japan, earning more than $230 million and removing "Titanic" as the highest-grossing film in Japan- ese box office history. Also earlier this year at the Berlin Film Festival, it became the first animated feature to win the prestigious Golden Bear Award for top honors. Animania is a non-profit student organization dedi- cated to expanding awareness of the language and cul- ture of Japan through anime; the screening of "Spirited Away," about a girl who becomes trapped in a dark world of the spirits after her parents are turned into pigs DO YOU WANT A Gain sales and advertising experience, make $$$, work in a fun environment, and drink cheap soda!
