CNN broadcast edited portions of the taped exchange Thursday night and said it obtained the interview, done by the Arabic language Al-Jazeera television network, "from a non-governmental source." If the interview occurred in late October, that would have been about two weeks before Kabul, the capital, fell to U.S.-back Afghan alliance fighters and more than a month before the Taliban headquarters city of Kandahar was abandoned. Bin Laden wore camouflage fatigues and spoke without emotion as he told his Al-Jazeera inter- viewer that killing innocent civilians "is permissi- ble in Islamic law." And he painted a grim future for Americans. ,,1 'TT-)-- 0 A1 11 r we re going to neii "I tell you, freedom and human rights in Ameri- let history be witness that w, are terrorists." ca are doomed. Smith, the janitor responsible for the upkeep of the mansion, said he saw a green Jeep Grand Cherokee "peel out" of the president's driveway shortly before dawn Wednesday. "The back of the Jeep was so heavy that the muffler was making sparks down South U," Smith said. "I figured it was just Mrs. B.'s art stuff." White said he found a note in Bollinger's "schmancy handwriting style" which read: "Screw you, B. Joe. If you want anything, back, log onto eBay!" "I know living in New York can get expensive, but come on. Leave the new guy little something, huh?" White said. Brown said the University will be represented by BAMN attorney, Miranda Massie, in the lawsuit charging Bollinger with theft, destruction of public property and arrogance. In an incident DPS said is possibly related, the president's office in the Fleming Administration Building was also looted. Witnesses described computer key- boards with the letter "B" missing and graffiti desecrating former Uni- versity Provost Nancy Cantor as a "portly elf." He is set to go to trial Feb. 22. "It operated like a bulletin board where they'd (site visitors) put some in and take some out," Kenton County Attorney Garry Edmondson said Wednesday. "It's just very disturbing to see this." Police said the FBI began investigating the boy in July, after a high-traf- fic child pornography site wat discovered operating in the area, just south of Cincinnati. A computer in the boy's home was confiscated in November. Kenton County Assistant Police Chief Lt. Col. Ed Butler said there is no evidence the teen developed the material used on the website. The site included hundreds of images of infants, children and animals in sex acts. This story needs one more line. NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. Stupid girl leaves sex tape in dad's camera A Navy petty officer is Accused of making pornographic home videos with a 16-year-old girl and another sailor, police said. Jessie Oldfield, 20, is charged with first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, according to court papers. He is a student at the Charleston Naval Weapons Station's nuclear power training unit. Oldfield was being held on $100,000 bail. A call to North Charleston police was not immediately returned Saturday; it was unclear whether Old- field had retained a lawyer or was facing other charges. The other sailor in the video is on active duty in another state, authorities said. Police also confiscated two additional tapes and are trying to identify other sailors involved in sexual activity with the girl and two unidentified 16- year-olds who performed striptease acts. Mike Steinberg, a Naval Weapons Station spokesman, said Saturday he did not know whether the station was considering expelling Oldfield. A tape was discovered by the girl's father after she left it in his video cam- era, police said. Her parents turned over the tapes to police on Thursday. 9 i loom"Oft A"0*0040"' w 0: wk l4k; * w SCOREKEEPERS Sftoem4/9 d t I l -- _ --I - a - Its not too late to GO GRE I | Want more info? Without the police offi- cers' observations from Sept. 15, 2000, the Crown didn't have enough evidence to proceed with a case against Jill Hornick and Rachel Aitch- eson, charged with various offenses under the Liquor License Act. The case sparked heavy criticism from Toronto's gay community who felt the plainclothes male officers humiliated the women. SAGINAW, Mich.
