On the last day of elections, while
some Defend Affirmative Action
Party candidates were still campaign-
ing, others traveled to federal court in
Detroit to attend a hearing for the
lawsuit filed against the College of
Literature, Sciences and Arts for its
use of race as a factor in admissions,
said DAAP candidate Kate Stenvig.
Blue Party candidate Omari
Williams said despite the grueling
campaign schedule, he handled the

election proceedings very well.
"It's almost too much to do during the
school year, like a real election," he said.
"Some take it harder than others
some people fail classes over it."
Williams, while hopeful for his
turnout, said he thinks that candidates
are driven to work hard for an election
that he believes "shouldn't be all that
important."
