choosing a college. He originally comn-
mitted to Rutgers before deciding on
UCLA instead. But UCLA said he need-
ed to take some extra core classes to
enter the Califor-nia state univer'sitv svs-
tern, prompting him to take the year off
instead.
Eventually, Moore committed to
Michigan.
Joshua 1:2
..now therefore arise, go over this
Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto
the land which I do give to them, even
to the children of Israel.

Now, Moore has found a long-term
situation that he hopes will allow him be
happy while playing basketball.
The freshman's goals are lofty. He
doesn't want to be just a contributor.
Much like his hero and friend O'Neal
did this past June with the Lakers,
Moore wants to help lead Michigan bas-
ketball back to the promised land.
"If you want to be the best, you have
to compare yourself to the best," Moore
said. "One of the things I did about a
month ago was to call (Shaq) up and ask
him for all of his college tapes. They'll
give me. the opportunity to see how he
dominated college basketball, what
made him the No. 1 pick and what made
him successful ."
