That appeared to be a turning point in the game as Michigan went on the offensive. With 24 minutes to go in the game, senior Will Purdy carried the ball up the left sideline and launched a pass into the middle of the box. On the receiving end, freshman Kevin Taylor got his head on the ball but sent the ball right into the arms of Bowling Green goalkeeper David DeGraff. Ten minutes later, Michigan again applied the pressure to Bowling Green's defense. Off another cross from the left side of the field, Purdy placed a shot on goal, then gathered the rebound and sent the ball toward the far post. DeGraff again came up huge and kept the Wolverines off the score- board. "If we get one of those goals. it's a completely different game," Burns said. Purdy and Robinson continued to pester the Bowling Green defense, managing a number of scoring chances in the second half, but were unable to finish. On two shots, Bowling Green goalkeeper David DeGraff was up to the task, robbing Michigan of two goals and several more chances to claw their way back into the game. Michigan's next regular season game will be Wednesday, Oct. 4 at Western Michigan. "We recruited a lot of the guys and we know a lot of them," Burns said.
