Ladies and gentlemen, are you ready?? Then leeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee- eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet's get ready to ruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuumble. (Cue Jock Jams one through eight.) At Briarwood: 1:50, 4:40, 7:15,10. At Showcase: 12:05, 12:35, 2:25, 2:55. 4:45, 5:15, 7:05, 7:35, 9:25, 9:55, 11:45 (Fri. & Sat.), 12:15 (Fri. & Sat.). Return to Me Well, faithful film buffs, this seems to be the heartfelt tale of a boy and his boomerang. At Briarwood: 1:40, 4:50, 7:30, 10:10. At Showcase: 1:35, 4:15, 6:45, 9:15, 11:40 (Fri. & Sat.). Rules of Engagement Gentlemen, the first rule of engagement, do not talk about rules of engagement. Second rule of engage- ment, do not talk about rules of engage- ment. Third rule of engagement, do not get engaged until you are at least 35 years old (the bachelor years are crucial - enjoy them). Fourth rule of engagement, if a divorce should happen, you keep the foot- ball tickets. And the fifth rule of engage- ment, if it's your first time, you fight. At Briarwood: 1:10, 4:10, 7, 9:50. At Show- case: 1:15, 1:45, 4:10, 4:40, 7:10, 7:40, 9:50, 10:20, 12:30. Films holding A B C D F A Classic Excellent Good Fair Not Worth Your Time, or Your Money American Beauty (B+) Writing this list is the highlight of my day. It's all about the Bentleys from here on out. At State: 1:30 (Sat. & Sun.), 4 (Sat. & Sun.), 7:15, 9:30, 12 (Sat.). At Showcase: 1:10, 3:40, 6:40, 9:05, 11:20 (Fri. & Sat.). The Cider House Rules (C) Team Mack- ey weeps long, wet tears for the Oscar Michael Caine stole from them. Swallow the American accent and retire now, Michael. We can't take much more of you. At Showcase: 2:05, 4:25, 6:55, 9:30, 11:55 (Fri. & Sat.). Erin Brockovich (B) So after three straight weeks at the top of the box office, Hollywood is chanting sequel and they mean it this time. The latest pro- posed pitch has Erin marrying former hotshot director Peter Bogdanovich and ,piling into the car for a cross-county roadtrip. When the Bogdanoviches get pulled over by the pigs, they can cop some lame excuse, like we're just going to Milwaukee for the dolphins (world- renowned mind you), then the officer will let them go, 'cause girls like Erin have it made like that. At Briarwood: 1:20, 4, 6:50, 9:40. At Showcase: 12:55, 3:45, 5:10, 6:35, 7:50, 9:20, 11:50 (Fri. & Sat.). The Exorcist (A) Catch this classic re- release with new bonus footage. Cool! - At Showcase: 1:20, 4, 6:50, 9:35, 12:05 (Fri. & Sat.). Final Destination (C) The final destina- tion for many of us every night is the dorm cafeteria, where we're treated to a warm vegetable stir-fry served on a warm bed of wild rice. That's assuming the seared tuna dish doesn't pan out as planned. At Showcase: 1:25, 3:35, 5:45, 8, 10:10, 12:10 (Fri. & Sat.). Ghost Dog (C) Come see Forrest's corn- rows put Sprewell andIverson to shame. At State: 2 (Sat. & Sun.), 4:30 (Sat. & Sun.), 7, 9:15. High Fidelity (C) Well, if John Cusack was a good actor and the script here was actually funny, then this might be a good movie. Wonder why the book was so popular. At Showcase: 12:10, 2:35, 4:55, 7:20, 10:05, 12:20 (Fri. & Sat.). Mission to Mars (D-) Its kind of a dag- blamed shame that this is only the sec- ond worst movie Tim Robbins has been in this year. Can you guess the worst (Hint: Look one entry up)? I've got a slice of warm peach pie that says you can't. At Showcase: 12:25, 11:15 (Fri. & Sat.). My Dog Skip B+ Enough of this busi- ness about Skip, what we really need is a movie about my dog Norton. That's right, Edward Norton. Ed and I are dogs and we play b-ball every Saturday and if we could just get a camera crew to come tape us, well, we might be onto something big. Besides, Ed's got a wicked reverse slam that you have to see to believe. At Briarwood: 1:15, 3:15, 5:20. Price of Glory Last I heard, glory costs a little bit more than a hot dog at Com- erica Park. But it's a closer call than it should be. At Showcase: 12. The Road to El Dorado (C) This movie would be much better if it were known as "The Road to El Dorito" and was about two brothers who go off in search of a bag of perfect chips. Elton John- would sing the title track "Cool Ranch." At Briarwood: 1, 3, 5, 7:10, 9:20. At Showcase: 12:30, 1, 1:30, 2:30, 3, 3:30, 4:30, 5, 5:30, 6:30, 7:15, 7:45, 8:15, 9, 9:30, 11 (Fri. & Sat.). Romeo Must Die (C+) If this movie lives up to its title, I'm not liking Romeo's chances of being alive come credit time. At Briarwood: 7:40, 10:15. At Show- case: 12:40, 3:05, 5:40, 8:05, 10, 10:30, 12:25 (Fri. & Sat.), 12:40 (Fri. & Sat.). The Skulls (C+) Secret societies are no fun, secret societies hurt someone. At Briarwood: 1:30, 4:30, 7:20, 9:45. At Showcase: 12:20, 12:50, 2:45, 3:15, 5:05, 5:35, 7:25, 7:55, 9:45, 10:15, 12 (Fri. & Sat.), 12:30 (Fri. & Sat.). The Sixth Sense (B) The saving grace of the Academy Awards was the fact that they threw a block down on little Haley. Tough stuff, kid, learn to deal with it. At Showcase: 2:50, 10:25, 12:35 (Fri. & Sat.). ursday CAMPUS CINEMA The Fugitive (1993) Come watch the Harrison Ford classic and then stay for a question and answer session with screenwriter Jeb Stuart, (See Erin Podol- sky's article two pages back.)
