UNO wins play-in'
faces Michigan next
Nebraska-Omaha continued its dra-
matic run in the conference playoffs with
a 3-1 victory over Bowling Green yester-
day night in the CCHA play-in game.
The home victoy sends Nebraska-
Omaha to the CCHAs final four at Jo
Louis Arena in Dtroit this weeken ~

seeded Michigan on Friday night.

Knight accused of
abuse by ex-Hoosier
BLOOMINGTON (AP) -A former
Indiana player alleges that coach Bo
Knight choked him during a practice,
according to a CNN/Sports Illustrated
story scheduled to air tonight.
Guard Neil Reed, who transferred
from Indiana to Southern Mississippi
in 1997, said at the time that he was
abused physically and mentally abused
by Knight. In the CNNSI story, Reed
said he was choked by Knight for about
five seconds before other coaches sep-
larated them and that Knight once told
Indiana president Myles Brand to leav
practice.
Knight did not return a phone call
from The Associated Press for com-
ment.

in Detroit Tigers' history, will be
honored with a special day on April
30 at Detroit's new Comerica Pai.
Anderson, who was voted into the
Baseball Hall of Fame on Feb. 21)
will be honored during on-field cer-
emonies prior to the Tigers' game
with the Chicago White Sox. _
He will be inducted into the Hall
of Fame in Cooperstown, NY,*
July 23, wearing a Cincinnati cap.
