Michigan precision
figure skating team
wins national title
The Michigan precision figure skating team
knew it had a chance to improve on last
year's fourth-place finish at the U.S.
National Precision Team Skating
Championships.
Butjt had no idea what would result from
their weekend in Tampa, Florida.
TheWolverines ran their routine to perfec-
tion, knocking off runner-up Miami (Ohio)
and six other competitors to take the
national title.
"Our team has come a long way" Melody
Benton said. "Last year we got fourth out
of five, so this felt really great."
