The women's basketball team first made a trip to Cincinnati this past Sunday, and will continue its travels for the next three games. Michigan's next voyage will be to Bowling Green, Ohio, where it will take on Bowling Green at 7 p.m. tonight. The Falcons are currently 4-3 after a victory against Detroit Mercy, who Michigan also defeated earlier in the season, and a loss to Wisconsin. But the Wolverines are expected to match up well against the Falcons. "We are about the same size," Michigan coach Sue Guevara said. ~They are a cross between Cincinnati and Alabama-Birmingham. They are a very fundamentally sound team who likes to run like us' And thus far Michigan's running game has been dominant. The Wolverines have outhustled and outscored their opponents, by an aver- age of almost 20 points a game. The Michigan defense is also one of the top defenses in the conference. It averages four more rebounds then its opponents on the season. Junior Stacey Thomas also leads the league in steals. Like the Wolverines, the Falcons have a fairly young team. They also have a new coach. But as Michigan has proven, youth can gain experience very quickly. "We have been able to give opportu- nities to all of the kids this season," Guevara said. "Inexperience is not a weakness for us anymore." But the fact that the Wolverines are not playing with a full roster may be. Michigan will be without freshman center Raina Goodlow, who is out with a knee injury for the third straight game. Goodlow had been starting for the Wolverines and was a major contributor Tonight's game Who: Michigan vs. Bowling Green Where:BowlingGreen,Ohio When: 7 pm. She had a career-high 12 points in Michigan's win over Detroit, and grabbed six boards in Michigan's win over Colorado. Heather Oesterle will start at center in Goodlow's place. Oesterle has been steady in place of Goodlow. The loss of Goodlow is nothing new, since the Wolverines have been without a full team for most of the year. Ann Lemire was out on a three-game suspension at the beginning of the year, and Kenisha Walker also just returned after being out of the lineup with an injury.
