The Women's Night Run is held in the fall and spring to raise aware- ness of campus safety issues and to encourage running for fitness and recreation. Wolverines beat 18 other schools for the championship, with senior Lauren Oppenlander and junior Dan Smallidge taking the women's and men's overall trophies. This is Michigan's first Midwestern championship since the team was founded. As Mid- west champs, the team qualified /I for Nationals at Northeastern Louisiana University, where they finished 10th in the nation.
