He does not have a fixed route and only drives about once each week, but whenever he gets a call from the office staff saying that they need another volunteer, George is always ready to help. "As long as I'm able, I'm happy to do it," he said cheerfully. Motor Meals of Ann Arbor was started in 1974, and currently serves approximately 150 people who are homebound and unable to prepare a balanced meal for themselves. Both hot and cold meals are served Monday through Friday, from 12 to 2 p.m. Motor Meals offers a dia- betic diet, as well as high-protein diets for AIDS patients and Ensure Plus for those at nutritional risk. Motor Meals is a nonprofit community service organization partially supported and funded by the University Hospitals and is always looking for volunteers.
