After meeting with Rambo, Ohio State's athletic department decided not to dis- cipline him. Rambo was charged with drug abuse, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, said a police dispatcher who refused to give his name, He posted bail of $110 was released from the Franklin County Jail on Sunday morning. The 6-foot-2, 185-pound receiver from Cerritos, Calif., was selected to USA Today's All-USA team last year. He has played sparingly this season, but did have a 42-yard kickoff return against Missouri on Saturday. University athletics director Andy Geiger said Rambo would stay on the team because there did not appear to be any indication that his conduct warranted pun- ishment._11 "Coach Cooper and I have met with Ken-Yon and talked to several eyewitness- es who were at the scene of last night's disturbance" Geiger said. "Based upon the information we have gathered, it is our belief that while Ken- Yon was at the site of the disturbance, he did not in any way perpetrate the situa- tion, nor did he contribute to the general melee that took place. "Ken-Yon will have to go through the legal process, but I do not believe, a coach Cooper concurs, that the circumstances of this incident warrant his suspen- sion or dismissal from the team:' Rambo met with coaches at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center on Sunday a e.X- noon, but refused to comment. "Sorry, I don't have time to talk right now," he said before going into a locker room. Coach John Cooper also refused to comment or take questions. Police said they were called to a restaurant near downtown to investigate a dis- turbance early Sunday. When officers arrived at about 2:30 a.m., they saw several people fighting and repeatedly ordered them to stop. Rambo and another man, Charles Lewis, a junior at Ohio State, refused to quit fighting and scuffled with officers, according to the police report. Both were taken into custody and transported to the jail. It was not clear whether Lewis and Rambo were fighting each other. They were to appear in Franklin County Municipal Court today. Lewis was charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, obstructing justice and misconduct in an emergency. Rambo's arrest comes three weeks after Buckeyes basketball coach Jim O'Brien kicked three players off the team. Sept. 8, O'Brien removed Shaun Stonerook, Jermaine Tate and Trent Jackson from the team. Stonerook was kicked off because of grade problems. Tate did follow coaches orders, and Jackson was arrested after an altercation with polic "I don't think you can put these two things together" Snapp said.
