Why: Kabnick narrowly missed winning the all-around title by .05 in
Saturday's NCAA Central Regional championships. It was only the sec-
ond time this season that she competed in the all-around. Kabnick fin-
ished second on the balance beam with a 9.9.
Background: In 1996, Kabnick earned All-Big Ten honors when she tied
for third (9.825) on the floor exercise ... She was an 1996 NCAA All-
American on the vault and floor exercises, as well as in the all-around
... Born on Oct. 31, 1976 ... Enrolled in the Division of Kinesiology.
