Such is the setup of "Kolya," a delightful work from the Czech Republic, which recently won the Academy Award for best foreign lan- guage film. Set in Prague in 1989, just prior to the Velvet Revolution, "Kolya" uses the political situation of the country as the backdrop for a heartwarming story. When Louka's wife flees, she leaves behind something very important - her 6-year-old son Kolya.
