Hi Wolverines! I hope everyone
had a great Spring Break, Don't
stop working out just because
Spring Break is over. As the weath-
er warms up I'll be looking for
you at Palmer Field to give you
some incentive ... I'm looking
for volunteers to help me with the
NIKE P.L.A.Y. Day. E-mail me at
jen.linder@nike.com.

Senior Fred Smith is'looking to go out the
same way he came in: with a championship.
Smith has been an active participant in the
Intramural Basketball program for the past four
years. His freshman year, Smith's team won the
B League Championship. Sophomore year they
lost in the second round. Last season, Smith's
team made it to the quarterfinals where they
were eliminated by a basketball team made up
of several Varsity Football players, including
Will Carr and Tyrone Butterfield. Smith's team
already has qualified for the playoffs this sea-
son, which will. be his last.

LIL' PENNY STILL ROLLING
Did your invitation to Lil' Penny's
Super Bowl party get lost in the
mail? Here's another chance to
hang out with Anfernee
Hardaway's alter ego: The Lil'
Penny World Tour is coming to
campus. Keep your eyes peeled
and your bathing suit handy.

Basketball is a year-round passion for Smith, who often can be found playing pickup
hoops at the Intramural Building or at the CCRB. During the summers Smith helps
coach a summer league for high school students in San Diego; which is his home.
Considering that Smith holds three jobs while in school, the fact that he finds time to
play basketball at all is impressive. Smith helps with recruitment at Career Planning and
Placement, works at Rick's Cafe, and delivers food for Mr. Spot's. Smith plans to pursue
