Cat's Meow has been selling vintage clothing to Ann Arbor residents for the past 14 years. According to owner Nancy Hay, the store sends out buy- ers to find '60s and '70s clothing, work shirts, jackets, bowling shirts, disco clothing and other assorted specialty items. "Our most popular item is probably bellbottoms," Hay said. Value Village, in Ypsilanti, buys clothing from Purple Heart and sells it to the public-at bargain prices. The store has been open for 12 years, and according to Ypsilanti resident Jennifer Reynolds, it's a good place to come and "just kind of browse." "I (go resale shopping) about three or four times per month," Reynolds said as she tried on a coat in Value Village on Monday. "I usually spend about five bucks (on) a couple sweaters, a shirt and cords." if Obviously, like many bar- gain shoppers, Reynolds knows the value of a dollar. ,Wt get ou In the real world it won't get -you anything.
