Why: Sloan is the chair person for the M-PACT Community Relations
Committee, a student-athlete peer support group. Sloan spoke on Jan. 19
to fifth graders at Angell School graduating from the D.A.R.E program,
Drug and Alcohol Resistance Education. Last week, he was also
responsible for the recruitment and scheduling of readers for the
S.H.A.R.E program, Student-Athletes Helping to Achieve Reading
Excellence.
Background: Sloan has played in 22 of 24 games and has tallied four
goals and 12 assists. The defenseman finished last season with a plus/
minus rating of +30. He was a Bauer CCHA All-Rookie Team member and
was named to the CCHA All-Tournament playoff team his freshman year.
He collected four goals and 19 assists his first two seasons...born July
27, 1975.
