The Editors have landed. Weekend Etc.
is now engaged.
Hi - it's us, Ted and Liz, your friendly
neighborhood Weekend Etc. editors. Nice
to meet you. We, being the most g-darn
lovable and extremely art-conscious people
we know, would like to take this
opportunity to welcome you to our pages.
Welcome to our pages.
What is Weekend Etc. you ask? Well,
we suppose, most briefly and succinctly,
it's a weekly compilation of general
interest stories and activities to keep you
busy through the weekend and well into
the week. It's not exactly like the everyday
Arts pages, in that we focus our pieces more
on just writing about trends and
happenings, rather than relying heavily on
reviews and photocuts (no, that's not to say
that Arts does that. A lot.)
In every issue we have interesting and
thought-provoking columns from well-
known Daily staffers Jessie Halladay (who
moonlights as the Editor-In-Chief), Melissa
Rose Bernardo (Arts Editor extraordinaire)
and Nate Hurley (News Editor, but still
cool). There will always be a Fun Page
(yes, you Cah Suchah, you have found it),
where we'll have cartoonists displaying
their talents, and little tidbits of ticklefuzz
that we have encountered somewhere in
our week. (Speaking of which, we still need
a cartoonist. Anyone? Anyone? Beuller?
Beuller?) If you turn to the back page (not
right now!) you'll discover an eye-catching
and probing Photo Story designed by one
of those wascally photogs. And especially
important issthe ever-famous Weekend Etc.
List on the second-to-last page of each
edition, detailing important things going on
in town for the week to come (hey, if you
send 'em, we just might print 'em).
So, just sit back, relax, put the paper
over your face and absorb the vibes. We
hope to see ya next week.

We don't want
you to hate us
just because
we're beautiful,

Ted and Liz

THE UNFUNNY COMPUTER GENERATEDS

SO, HOW DOES ONE BECOME A
PARADE BALLOON, WINKY?

WELL, YOU HAVE TO HAVE A
LOT OF WILLPOWER AND
DETERMINATION, GRIT AND
STRENGTH.

OH, AND YOU CAN NEVER
BREATHE OUT.

Loathe the above?
Think you can do better?
Well, now's your chance.
Weekend Etc. is looking for (duh) a
cartoonist.
