BSowx TALE DeNiro's directorial debut was embraced by the critics, but has

IpO RUNNINGS Anne Rice may have some trouble with the casting of Tom
Cruise as the androgynous vampire in the upcoming "Interview With The
Vampire," but chances are that the better part of North America has some
trouble with John Candy as an ex-Olympian bobsledder hired to train the

DEuowuoN MAN Rocky Balboa's latest contribution to art house cinema
also stars peroxide warrior Willie "Mays" Hayes. Hayes may run like Mays,

novel, is an affront to every talented writer who can't get published. At

MAUCE Alec Baldwin, in no huge break from real life, plays an asshole. At

Mm. Jow Maybe it was cute in "Prince of Tides," but Richard Gere's
Vtest project is the fourth recent picture which glorifies therapist-patient
affairs. Such relationships undermine the role of psychiatrists and make a

Ma. NAww Eight years after CBS demoted America's most irate dry
cleaner to re-run heaven, George Jefferson has returned with yet another

for a show at St. Andrews. Headlining is All, a Descendant-based California
punk-pop band who have survived an astonishing 13 albums without going
completely deaf. Following in their wake are Down By Law and My Name.
Make sure to wear the biggest pair of pants you can find for this one. The
slamming starts at 7:30 for a mere $9.50., all ages.
ADRIAN BELEw Yet another unplugged extravaganza, this time from Bowie/
King Crimson guitarist extraordinaire Adrian Belew, who's touring solo. Ex-

Bts DAVE AND THE ULMASONICS Check out some rippin' rock with Big Dave and

Prus & Tue MELVINs Primus, the great stylistic enigma of alternative music,
spent last year touring with U2, and this summer they headlined the
Lollapalooza tour. One thing is for sure; Primus can play some funky shit.
Melvins are astounding with their bewildering volume and feedback-laden
rage. This date is sold out,. All is not lost, however; check out Tuesday. The
