Best (and Worst) Local Drama:
"Our Town" ("Trelawny of the
'Wells"')
"Our Town": The University Play-
ers managed to resuscitate Thornton
Wilder's hackneyed classic, renewing
the play's poignant representation on
life, loveanddeath. Brought tears to our

eyes ... sniff.
" Trelawny" wanted to be a mag-
nificent Victorian comedy, but failed
miserably. The best production in the
world could not make this awful script
bearable. The show waffled between
the various theatrical genres.
Best (and Worst) Local Musical:

"Anything Goes" ("The Apple Tree")j
MUSKETdida"de-lovely"jobwith
"Anything Goes," a feel-good, funny,
hey-the-lyrics-actually-mean-some-
thing production. An endless stream of
musical and dramatic talent did justice
to this Cole Porter classic. We left the
theater singing -- always a good sign.

Best of the University: We don't
like to talk about it, but there is actually
a university in Ann Arbor -and a
pretty big one too! And teachers. And
classes. Well what do you know?
Best Professor: Ralph Williams
With his crazy antics and clicking
heels, you either love him or you hate
him. Not many people voted in this
category so we've decided to add our
own two cents. Our picks are the ever-
brilliant history god Sidney Fine and
Lit prof Robert Weisbach, every En-
glish major's dream come true.
Best Class: (tie) History 218: The

Vietnam War and Psychology 111:
Intro
Hard to believe that a class on one of
the most brutal wars in American his-
tory could draw students all the way
from the Ho Chi Minh trail. Psych 1ll
hasn'tbeen the same sinceDrew Westen
departed for the ivy-covered walls of
Harvard, but it was known as Psych 172
back in those days.
Best Blow-Off Course: Anthiro-
pology 101
There have got to be easier classes
than this, folks. Just take a look at the
Communications department if you
need further proof.
